REGISTRATION FOR SPRING MIRACLE LEAGUE SEASON ARRIVES

February 1, 2005 - The Miracle League of Pensacola will conduct registration for children and adults with disabilities interested in playing baseball this spring.  Registration will be held at the Nine Mile Road K-Mart location (sporting goods department) on Saturday, February 12th, 19th, and 26th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  The registration fee is $35 per player.

The Miracle League is a baseball league specifically designed for people with disabilities.  In the Miracle League, every player plays, every player hits, every player gets on base, every player scores, and every player wins – every inning.  Games will be played at Mitchell Homes Miracle League Park at the John R. Jones Athletic Complex on Nine Mile Road on a custom playing surface.

The league also invites those interested in volunteering in any capacity or to serve as a “Buddy” for one of the players to attend the registration.  A Buddy helps a player as needed with hitting, running the bases, and fielding.

When play begins, the league welcomes the public as fans.  Watch a game from the bleachers and you will be moved as you have never been moved at any other athletic event.  It will be unforgettable, and you will want to be there.
