The Miracle League of Pensacola provides physically and mentally challenged children a safe and spirited program in which they can hit, run, and catch on a baseball field – just like other kids. The Miracle League is a place where every player plays, every player hits, every player gets on base, every player scores, and every player wins – every inning. Players who need help with hitting, catching, and throwing the ball are paired with a "buddy" who helps out.

It only seems like yesterday (actually it was 3 years ago!) that the Miracle League played its inaugural season with 4 teams.

2007 was a great year for the Miracle League of Pensacola as it was able to finish the 2nd field at the park.  While the field didn’t have a scoreboard or a sound system, it was used for the last half of the Fall 2007 season.

Because of the 2nd field, the league hopes to have enough kids to play in 12 teams, with about 10 kids per team.  The season will begin on March 8th and will last through April 19th.  Six games will be played as the league will take a break on Easter Weekend, March 22nd and 23rd.  The plans now are to start the games on both fields at 9 am and each game will last 2 to 3 innings.

There are plenty of opportunities to be involved in the Miracle League.  The league can always use volunteer buddies to assist our kids during the games.  You can contact someone through this website and let them know of your interest.

The Miracle League is also participating in the Youth Baseball fundraising drive sponsored by Chevrolet and the local Chevy dealer, Pete Moore Chevrolet.  The league was given 2000 raffle tickets to sell for $5 each.  The purchaser will be registered for the chance to win a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe!  The best part of this opportunity is that the League gets to keep every dollar from every ticket sold.  The tickets are being sold now by the Miracle League Board members and the teams will be selling them during the season.
